ST. THOMAS CATHEDRAL

      Established in the Year 1846. Formerly the church was dedicated to St.George.  Its neighbouring church was dedicated to St.Mary.  In the year of the institution of the Diocese of Irinjalakuda both these parishes were joined and renamed as St.thomas Cathedral on the procedure of institution of the Diocese of Irinjalakuda in the year of 1978.  This was due to the importance of the place of  Crangannore presently called Kodungallur in the Diocese  where St.Thomas, one of the 12 of Jesus, Apostle for India landed through.. 

      There are 30 Parishes under the Forane Parish of Irinjalakuda.
